Hey fellow Olds lovers got an issue with my 99' GLS Intrigue with 94,500 miles on it and a 3.5 liter shortstar six. The car runs great untill it gets to the first line on the temp. gauge then starts to misfire and or stall if I am a red light or stop sign and operating at low RPMs. Once it warms upand gets to normal operating temp.it runs fine with no miss at all. Have replaced coil packs inlcuding ignition modules and a crank shaft positioning sensor (which is what the car's codes came up as). I suspect maybe the A.I.R. regulators on the exhaust manifoldsthrowing up false codes, but havent checked them with a Mighty Vac yet to see if the diaphrams are bad. Before I do this any ideas or similar issues?? Edited by: IRONDOG442

Take it to Auto Zone. They have the scanners that will read your fault codes and clear them. And they'll do itfor free.

And a suggestion on that...have them clear the codes and see if that fixes it before you start dumping money into it.

Tex,

Thanks for the advice but Autozone's code reader is how I have been diagnosing the problem from the start. I could use an analyzer to determine the exact problem but that can get as expensive as replacing some of the suspect parts. Any other suggestions??

Did you have them clear the faults each time, drive it for a while, and rescan?

Do you have a Chassis Service Manual?

Check ebay and pick one up. It'll have advance code troubleshooting in it. They are worth their weight in gold.
