1982 Olds Cutlass Supreme Brougham

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I have a 1982 Olds 4 dr, fully loaded that has been stored in a heated garage in Winnipeg, Manitoba for over 20 years by my uncle. This vehicles only has 8,000 km (5,000 miles), barely broken in. Everything is original. I will be looking at the vehicle in a few weeks and I'm looking for some advise.

Because it has been sitting idle for so many years, the vehicle is now going to be sold. I've been trying to decide what would be a fair asking price (it is scrap metal and just dump it for low $ or it is a collectible?). At this point in its life, I do not know if the engine has seized up (probably has original oil) because of moisture or how the transmission fluid has affected the tranmission plus all of the other components. The rad must be corroded.

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

Thankx,

HP999

I would find out what a new one went for then go from there. With 5000 original miles it gotta be worth more than scrap metal.

Part the cutlass out

I'm not sure how mechanically inclined you are or how much time and effort you're willing to invest but I would recommend parting the vehicle out. Sell the car by parts. Disassemble part by part and post them on this forum to sell or ebay. You'll make a lot more than you think. I was just given a 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Bro from my grand aunt with 66,000 (original miles) and I get asked all the time if I'm willing to sell it. Its a classic. This car is almost as old as I am. I'm looking to restore it and bring mine back to life and I need some parts. I'm looking for a vacuum pump. Maybe we can work something out.
