1969 Olds W-31 identification
#1
I am looking at a nice 69, Supposeded W-31. I know nothing about the identificationof a real W-31 except what I''ve googled, and need some help.
The guy has had it a while and is not posing it as a real or clone, he doesn''t know. It has no large harmonic dampener, a power steering pump with a two groove pulley, and is using a Ford relay switch. These I know are not correct. The inner fender liners are black not red but look to have indentations where the power steering resevoir should go.
It does have the dual air feed with inlets under the front bumper, a proper cover over the radiator with an aged decal explaining the air ducts being closed for winter driving. Non power brakes, Bucket seats with correct Hurst shifter, M-21 transmission with 3:91 positraction, an a real wicked sounding cam.No sound deadening in the trunk lid, and a "M" in the VIN.
Car is in8 of 10 overall condition, would appear to need very little to return to a 9. He wants 10,000. It has had a new clutch, front end work done recently. It is gold with white stripes on the hood, gold interior.
I am taking some photos and will have them tonight if anyone would be willing to look them over and let me know what they think. Thanks.

send me some pics please and I will ask my father Jim Waibel. He drove for the smothers brothers racing team in the 60''s and 70''s and he drove a 69 w31 4 speed convertible that we still own and I will ask him what he thinks.
