I'm looking at a 1969 442 advertised as a numbers matching car. I would like to know how I can verify this to be true or not. Does the block # match with the vin # ? Were would I find the block # on a 69 400ci. Any info in this matter would be a big help.Thanks John. [img]smileys/smiley3.gif[/img]

Under TECH you will find two articles titled "Oldsmobile block code location" and "The block VIN derivative code location".


Then check the FAQ at www.442.com. You have to be careful about specifics there (there are a lot of errors scattered about) bt the basic info is good stuff.
