Hello, unfortunatly I am toying with the Idea of selling my 73 442 but have little idea of the value, it is the orig 455 with some work done to it,350-400hp, 400 trans, paint is older with some blemishes mainly a little rust starting around the rear window, runs/drives good, bout 6000mi on engine. solid car,no rot underneath. any help would be appreciated, I have had this car for 13 yrs but have too many projects now 73 442 value-031.jpg

This is always a difficult one to answer in today's crazy market. In the end the value is how much someone is willing to pay for it and you have that cash in hand. Some want way too much and some aren't asking enough. Just because someone is asking $40K for a $15K car doesn't mean they are going to get it. It also depends on how fast and quick you need to sell it. I would suggest you look at the Classic Car Section of NADA, which you can do online. Also, just go online and look at what some other owners are asking. Take into account your area of the country, if you are going to sell locally. Prices can vary regionally. It looks like you have a fairly nice car and it seems prices have been rising on the colonnade-style A body cars. Remember, its your car. You know what you paid, what you have put into it and what it's going to take to part with it!

Yes it is a th-400. I have looked at NADA and it states with the options it has at #1 condition around $20,000 # 2 $16,000 #3 $7,500-$9,000, I was thinking somewhere between $10,000 -$12,000 but wasn't sure if I would be asking too much or too little, I don't have to sell it but with my other projects this car might get neglected and I would hate that. Thanks for the replys.

Well I would say its not more then $14k because the car's condition is not well as it should be. So I think if someone offer you near about this then you should quickly sale the car. Good luck
