Heys I am going to hopefully pickup a 85 442 tomorrow I have been eyeballn' g bodys for awhile. but just saw this 442 and love it but don't want to get ripped off. how can I tell if its a real 442 and not a cutlass with some stickers on it?

 

If it's a real 442, the 8th number in the vin should be a "9" not a "Y".


Also there should be a W42 in the option codes in the trunk. On the lock side of the driver door, there should be a sticker that says there should be 15" wheels on that car, not 14's. Should have a dual snorkle air cleaner and 1-2 dual exhaust. Hopefully, this helps!
