<DIV align=left>I am looking to purchase a non-W-30 1970 442 online and the owner e-mailed a build sheet which shows this option(W-27)...But I hear it was only available to the W-30 cars.???

The pics he sent shows the correct cover but I have no way to see if the axle housing is actually aluminum.</DIV>

In 1970, the W-27 aluminum axle and cover was only available on W-304-4-2, W-31F-85 Sports Coupe and Cutlass'S' Coupe, and W-32 Cutlass Supreme Coupe. The W-27 cover was available on all models as a dealer-installed item...plus all the aftermarket ones available.


They sure do look tuff!

But then again, you could have just about anything built "your way". Ask for the numbers off the axle.
