</>I will be hitting 100,000 miles in my 2004 probably this year. I was wondering what all I would need to look at for the 100,000 maintenance besides the timing chain. I also planned on the tranmission fluid and filter but I heard that the Alero was designed to never need these changed. Any truth to that? Edited by: Bronco30

if you have an owners manual consult it . if not ask your olds service dept for prescribed maintainance at this mileage , then find an independent garage to perform the service for you. sorry dealerships but you simply charge too much.......

I'd do the serpentine belt, and change the tranny fluid and filter, but don't flush it. You could knock any sediment loose, and plug up the tiny little passages.

Whoever said tranny fluid never needs to be changed, probably rebuilds them for a living

How about a radiator flush?
