1999 alero

Hello all,

My wife has a 99 alero, the low coolant light is on and I checked it's level and it's good. I unplugged the low coolant sensor in the reservoir and the light went away, as soon as i plugged it in the light came back on. Am i to assume the sensor is faulty and i need a new reservoir as the sensor doesn't look like it comes out?

thanks

I found this in a quick search http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/pi/d...OR0&item=S8117 .
The cost is 11.49.

I know sometimes when the inside of the coolant res gets gunky the sensor doesn't work right.

I put in a new coolant reservoir (with the sensor), now the light just comes and goes...strange.

I would just unplug the sensor. Bam no pesky light. Watch the temp gauge and you will be fine.

Sounds like a wire has a bad connection somewhere.
