I am looking at buying a 1999 Alero GLS. 3.4 liter V6, cloth interior, auto, air, etc. It has 11,000 original miles, an old couple owned it, and they are selling it for $7900. Does this sound like a decent deal? Are these good cars or what are the main problems people have? Thanks for any help!

yeah that is a good deal most cars owned by the elderly are generally in good condition. two i have a v6 99 alero with 117,00 miles and bought it for $1500, with a new serpanteen belt an lil powersteering problems. the car gets good gas mileage an actually looks pretty cool an like i said a lot of the cars are hardly ever used when owned by old folks.

Tell them you want the lower intake manifold gasket replaced before you sign any paper work and make sure it still has a warrenty. It should have like a 36,000 mile warrenty. The price is a bit high but for the 11,000 miles its probably worth it. The resale on the Olds Alero sucks *** so don''t look at getting alot of money for it if you ever decide to sell it.
