Hi:

Just wondering if anyone has had this annoying problem. At least once a week or could be more my turning signals quit. If I put on the four way flashers a few timesand put the signal light on....then turn off the four way flasher my turning signals usually begin working again.(sometimes it takes a bit longer)Also when turning right and I have to accelerate to merge into traffic my battery light will come on and stay on for a short while? I have taken it to the shop and it does not pull up any codes? This has been going on for a couple of months. If anyone has any ideas what this could beI would love to hear from you?

Go to a GM dealer and ask for a copy of Gm Service Bulletin 04098A, issued January 2006. You did not post which year and model Alero you have, so I'm not certain the bulletin will apply to you, but it details a procedure for replacing the hazard light switch, which also controls the flashing of the turn signals. There was a recall for certain Aleros for this issue also, so yours may be done for free. This is a very common Alero problem, and is not hard to fix yourself, if you aren't covered by the recall.

As for the battery light, you may have corrosion in the battery terminals, a loose terminal, or a loose connection at the alternator. The line from the alternator to the battery could also be rubbing on something as you turn right.
