Hi there, I have an 02 Alero with 150k km on it and it is having problems shifting. I took it to a transmission shop and they said the computer in the transmission is not working, and therefore the car doesn't know what gear to be in or when to shift. Does anybody know where this computer is, and will I have to remove the transmission to get to it?

Thanks

Ryan

I'm having a similar problem, but I have not yet taken it to an auto shop...I have an 01 (3.4) ... I recently had the transmission flushed, but the filter was not changed...also, at certain speeds (usually over 40 mph) my car makes a whistling sound whenever I step on the gas...any advice on what I should do? or what the problem is? thanks in advance

FLUSHING THE TRANSMISSION WITHOUT CHANGING THE FILTER SOUNDS AS SMART AS RECYCLING TOILET PAPER.
