Changing our 6X9 speakers on 2003 Alero

Hey there,

Just wondering about how to wire in new 6X9's in my car. The stock speakers have 4 wires and the aftermarket has 2. How do I go about wiring these in??

Thanks, Randal

Just use one of the positive and one of the negitives. Tape off the other two.

did that, then onlt the tweeter works then and if you hook it up the other way then the sub only works???

Huh. Thats all I did and it worked. What speakers are you using? Do you have the factory amp?

Hey All,

I tried this in my 2001 and here is what I found out. If you have the Monsoon version of the sound system it has factory amp installed. You can not put after market speakers in with out bypassing the amp. I ended up ording and installing factory speakers..

I have the Monsoon amp and my aftermarket speakers work fine.
