Cool Have To Push The Trunk Release 6,000 Times Before It Opens ...

And WHY?

It will eventually open on its open (or should I say POP open) but not without me pushing the button a million and a half times ...

Ideas?

Is this with the button on the door panel or with the key fob button or both? There is also a thing on the trunk release that makes it were you have to use your key to open the trunk. I would check to see if that is part way on or something. Maybe the latch just needs sprayed with some WD-40.

I've sprayed the hatch, many times now and it hasn't helped.
And I'm pushing the button on the key fob AND on the inside of the car ... I can hear it clicking, it just doesn't pop open.

Sometimes it goes on the first try, but MOST of the time it takes about 20 clicks until it will bother opening. It's really strange.
I should take a video

When you close the truck do you have slam it pretty hard to get it to shut of can you just push it down and it shuts? The latch may need to be ajusted.

Just a simple shut is fine. I try not to slam any door or trunk on any vehicle really ...
Obviously something is sticking in this "Automatic" function, since I have no problem at all opening the trunk if I do it manually.

It's just really strange.

Well I don't know man. Maybe the hinges are a little sticky. Wouldn't hurt to give them a little shot of spray too.

Haha no worries, just wanted to see if anyone out there had the same or similar problem. I think I'll give it another look down and a spray and I'll see if it helps.
I think it just has a mind of its own.

Hell there may be a short in the system somewhere. I would think that if both the button and key fob do the samething that it would be mechanical. I haven't looked at the latch and how the electical part of it works so I don't know. Hope you figure it out man.
