hello I recently purchased an alero 2002 with the 2.2ecotech in it....car runs good.....i love it....i wish it had a lil more power however which leads me to asking some questions......is the 2.4 ecotech a retro-fitable option? yeah I know the entire harrness would likely need swapped with i thought with a 5-speed swap at the same time it could make for a better alero...has anyone done this?

after all of the work and money you would put in it doing that, u could go find a 5 speed v6
|
Your not going to find an Alero with a V6 and a 5 speed. GM never made it but there has been a few people that have swapped in a 5 speed and one with a Grand am that has a 6 speed out of a G6. You can get get alot of aftermarket stuff for the ecotec. |
I like doing things differently i guess.....I figured with a 5 speed and sticking with an ecotec just a better version I could either keep the same mpgs or maybe do a lil better....and I thought about a v-6 5 speed car but if I was going that route I''d just find v-6 car to start with and swap in a 6-speed from the g-6did GM make any 4 door 5 speed cars?

well theres the hhr which has a 5 speed but im not to sure really, everythings automatic. and yes they did have 5 speed v-6 i know 2 people that have them stock, they did it in the 2001''s only because the 5 speed trans they used was crap.Edited by: KingWally08

There were no Oldsmobile Alero 3400 V6 with a 5 speed tranny from the factory period, they didn''t make them. |
