Hello. I bought my sister a 600W Blaupunkt sub for Christmas, and I have all the cables for it and the amp as well. However, I would like to install this with the stock car radio. The simple reason for this is that she's used to the radio, and it's hard to get a head unit for cheap that actually displays the artist information and such.

The head unit looks really similar, if not exactly like, this: http://www.aaaautopartsofevansville....mages/638-0130 8B.jpg Perhaps there's no tape player

I haven't actually opened up the car much at all, so I'm not sure if the radio has RCA outputs on the back. If so, then I'm all set. If not, can I somehow cut into the wires and then sauter on some RCAs for the sub?

Of course, getting an after-market head unit is perfectly fine, but I'd love not to get one and keep the stock with as many free mods, given that I have the sautering iron, sauter and such.

Thank you very much.

You can buy adaptors at Radio Shack that will convert speaker wire to rc jacks.

I heard about the speaker wire to RCA jack converter, but I'm not sure about its effectiveness. If I take the rear-left channel to the sub amp, would I get enough input?

when you convert over you should use the left and right channel. The only thing that may rob you of bass is if your radio has build in bass blockers to protect the factory speakers. Other then that it will wrok find.

That seems good, but how does that compare to running an RCA cable to the back?

Aside from this last question, I think my question has been answered. Thanks a whole lot.
