Hi, I'm new to the forum. Ill explain my story..

I was driving 100km and sped up to pass a car on the highway. I passed the car and got up to approxmitatly 130km per hour. I then slowed down to turn, stopped and accelerated, having the gas pedal 3/4 of the way down when going from 2nd to 3rd gear it shifted rough and hard. I then continued to drive, and as I drove a little further it had trouble staying in 4th gear.

I then took it to a local garage and has it scanned, and got a Long Shift code (I dont know the number). The code wasn't present but an existing code. My mechanic cleared the code, and checked my fluid levels. And told me I should possibly replace the transmittion filter.

The car is still driveable but when going from 3rd to forth the car wont shift till 5500RPM. And once it shifts, it keeps wanting to go back into 3rd at 100km an hour or more. When maintaing a speed of 110 or 120, being very steady on the pedal I can get the RPMs to go below 2,000RPM (when not steady accelerating from 100 to 105 it will jump from 2,000RPM to 4,000RPM+)

I researched this a little further and found a common problem in these cars, as the mass air flow sensor decides to degrade from dust, etc. It fits my description exactly besides it doesn't show a mass flow code.

Any suggestions? Going to take apart the mass air flow sensor tomorrow and clean it, if no one has any better ideas. And possibly replace the transmittion filter.

Clean the MAF using only MAF cleaner, carb cleaner will destroy it.
You didn't say how many KMs are on the car, but it's probably time to change the trans filter also. Switch to DEX VI while you are at it, that's much better than the old DEX III fluid.
If cleaning the MAF doesn't help, you'll need to find out which long shift code you got, and go from there.

The car currently has 186,000 KM (115,000 Miles). I just ordered in a new tranny filter, as I am told by my mechanic that the Mass Air Flow Sensor has pretty much nothing to do with my Transmittion, but more to do with my engine.

Another question...well I was driving my terrible shifting car across town, I got a check engine light for my Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (PO131B), and P1189C (Engine Oil Pressure [EOP] Switch Circuit). And the long shift code had cleared when I scanned it.
