Obtaining Theftlock Radio Code

I bought a 2001 Alero that has a super radio/CD player/cassette player. Unfortunately, it also has an energized Theftlock and I don't have the code.
I've been pestering my dealer about helping me get the code; but it appears as though once the check cleared, the service stopped.
What other avenues are available to Joe-on-the-street relative to obtaining this code? Is it encoded in the VIN?
Please help, if you can, before I have to disconnect the battery (or it dies) and I have a locked radio as well.
Thanks.
Frank

I instsalled an ipod adapter and my radio will not work-it acts as if the car is turned off...does this mean that the theft lock is in place?< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-46";

I would find a different dealer or find a place like http://www.carstereoremoval.com/htm/stereoCodeGM.htm.
carrie81, if the passlock was on your car wouldn't run so no its not. Must have hooked something up wrong or got the wrong adapter.
