2003 Alero:

When listening to the radio I turned the rear defrost on and lost all radio signals. Turn the defroster off and everything returns.

Any comments or troubleshooting?

This is due to a stupid design. They put the radio antenna in the rear window. Im not sure if there is a fix for this or if you will just have to install an aftermarket antenna.

Its because the radio antenna and defrost are integrated together. If you look at the back window from the inside of the car you will see two wires coming out of the passanger side trim. If you pull that trim off that is where the antenna connects. You can make sure all the plugs are plugged in tight.

I just went out and looked at the back window. I looked at the clips that attach to the window. Are these supposed to be as visible as they are? I wiggled them and tried the radio again. That did not work.

There are two of the connections on the passenger side and one on the drivers side.

Have you had your back window tinted? That makes interference also. The factory tint is on the inside of the window so it doesn''t affect anything. Most tint places just put the tint on the outside of the back window because its a lot easier to do, that makes interference.
