I think I have a fuel tank "floater" problem in my newly purchased 2002 Aurora 3.5 6 cyl. I was all excited wed when I was driving home and looked at my gas gauge and it showed FULL but I went around a corner and it just dropped off the F to the E and never went back to top F. It moves around quite a bit. I put in $20 and got my 6. something gallons, then turned on the "trips" odometer. To my surprise I was able to put in another $20 for another 6+ gallons of gas. Now I have maybe driven a total of about 8 miles. If the gas gauge is broken will that be expensive to fix? Next question, in the "DIC" where the different messages appear it shows like 147 miles left, or something like that. If that works I won't worry so much about fuel gauge accuracy. Really do not want to carry gasoline in trunk for emergency's. I love this forum, just joined and love reading all info about different problems. I hope to become clearer in my next Post also

"cooldep is a little bitter, anyway the mileage on the dic is pretty accurate i use it religiously, but if i was having your problem i would'nt trust it. I suggest you get the floater fixed, it's never fun sitting on the side of the road..

Thanks JoJo, at last someone...I guess this is a pretty common problem with Aurora, anyway I did buy a bottle of Chevron's fuel cleaner , the stuff thats good to clean off the leeds of the gauge fingers and stuff that could help out so I don't need to spend the big $$. It may be working because the gauge is way more stable, except when I go around big circles (like on-ramps to highway) then it moves always to full but goes back to what I think is normal..sorry I lost it JoJo but nobody but you answered me, I know people don't like Red Sox/Patriot fans but come on
