Default battery light still on!!! check charge system....

im new in this forum and i need help

i brought a 2001 oldsmobile aurora v8
i tought that car wasn't charging because the light is on and keeps telling !check charge system!

i took the alternator to advance auto part and is working good.
i check the volts with a voltimeter and it reads 14.90 volts so i assume is charging good.....

my question is why the battery light is still on and !check charge system warning

is there anyway to erase this lights?? or anyway to reset it?

thanks in advance for the coperation..

It's too high. What type voltmeter are you using, I assume since you say 14.9 it is a digital.

Does it charge high all the time, does it (voltage) drop with lights on? I am pretty sure the light goes on if the system isn't within a low/high range.

the volts doesn't drop or go up....engine off (12 volts)

i only see one ground cable from the chassis to the engine
those cars requiremore ground?? or it is good like that?

The ground should be fine. If it is over powering (volts) change the alternator

Read post #6. If it is overcharging, replace the alternator. The voltage regulator is incorporated with it.

14.9 volts is not right, be prepared to buy batteries.
