I bought my wife a 98 Aurora last week and we love it! Problem is that when sitting still for a few seconds the car will stall! Doesnt seem to do it when the AC or heat is off. While driving it runs like a dream! After it cuts off it fires right back up. It only has 95k on it and oil was just changed two days ago. Onboard computer says all systems are ok. Can anyone help

I HAVNT HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH MY AURORA BUT A CLOSE FRIEND HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH A TOYOTA AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE IDLE CONTROL MODUEL. THIS IS MERELY AN OPINION AND NOT CONCRETE EVIDENCE TO REPLACE IDLE CONTROL MODUEL . GOOD LUCK. HAVE YOU HAD AN ONBOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED ON THE AURORA?? GOOD LUCK..

Good tickonthe diagnostic test. If that turns up nothing,I think I'd shotgun a fuel filter in there.

Clean out the throttle body, check or replace your plugs, and put some fuel system cleaner at the next fill up! Don't forget to use premium gas in the car too.

2001 4.0 Aurora...

Has anyone found the real cause of this problem? It happens to me all the tome and the dealer has changed crank position sensors, MAF etc... It will stall before it gets to operating temps when the heat and or A/C is going. If it is warmer outside it will drop the idle very low for a second and jump back up. Any suggestions. It has a good fuel filter, plugs, and new coils and module for 1,3,5, and 7. Other than that, the car is great and runs great.

2001 olds stalling

i have a 2001 olds aurora 3.0 v6 had same problem, when reaching operating temp if car was idling it would stall if you were on the road at 65 miles an hour it would shut down for a split second and come back to life but tach would be reading 8000 rpm, shut engine off and restart and everything would be ok, it turned out to be crank shaft sensor b circuit failure.on the 4.0 it has 2 crankshaft sensors and i would look more in that direction, keep an eye on your tack to see if it drops and then comes right back up
