Question Electrical Problems

I recently won an 03 Aurora 4.0 from a dealership and as it turns out it was a flood car. I noticed on the passenger's side there are wires hanging out from under the glove box area. All of them seem to be plugged in to this one central unit.
Anyway, the car seems to have some kind of short, and it's causing the engine to misfire, and the interior and exterior lights to dim and brighten over and over (in conjunction with the misfire, so it's obviously related).
I spoke with a Cadillac technician, and he said he'd be willing to bet if I fixed the electrical issue, the car would no longer misfire. My gut says he's dead-on. Th only problem is I dont have the money to pay him, and since the wires are exposed, I'd be willing to try this myself.

Anyone know anything about how to fix this issue?

hi, something you could try is pulling fuses for little things like radio, lighter, wipers, horn and other non essential things. then try to start the car. that's at least a start.

That is a good place to start with that kind of problem. However, I'd bet she's fixed it by now, since the thread is over a year old
