The headlights on my 1996 aurora flicker on and off. During day no problem but when its off at night and I come out and find the battery dead, big problem. Has anyone experienced this and what is the fix?

Thanks for your time and feedback.

me too.........guy wants $215 to replace the whole steering column, says the bad switch is in there, some kind of inside control switch........the headlamp control module is NOT the problem, i tried to change it out and it didn''t do any good

The rotary switch at the base of the turn signal stalk was dirty in my 95. Took the housing under the steering wheel off and removed and cleaned the switch, no more problem.

We have a 97 Aurora that is doing the same thing. Tonight I pulled the ground cable off of the battery. In the morning I will try to find this rotary switch under the steering column and give it a cleaning.

Yesterday I disassembled the steering wheel column covers and cleaned the switch at the base of the turn signal lever and it took care of the problem! I wonder how often this will require being done!

to clean the switch at the base of the turn signal (w/ an Electric cleaner spray, $5-$6, and q-tip or similar),after taking off the column housing, it only takes 1 cleaning and you''re good-go forever!, no reccurance
here after 6 mo.
great cheap fix!!!

Clean the switch like everyone has said. I have a 99 and have had to clean it 2 times now. they are very tempermental.
