I searched the archives here and looked on Alldata but couldn't find any relevant info. I want to remove the oldsmobile emblems and the words "oldsmobile" and "aurora 3.5" from my 2001 aurora. Has anyone removed these, and if so, how? Are they just stuck on, or are there holes in the sheet metal underneath that they stick into?

Thanks in advance for any help.

IF EVERYTHING ELSE FAILS,CALL YOUR GM DEALER ASK HIM HOW MUCH THE EMBLEM IS AND ARE THE SCREWS INCLUDED TO INSTALL. THAT WILL GET YOU YOUR ANSWER

On the Alero they're just stuck on, no screws or anything...I realize that it's a different car but I wouldn't think it would either.

I figured mine were probablyjust stuck on also. I used a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive, then took some fishing line and carefully pulled it between the car and the emblem. This took the emblem off and left chunks of the foam backing and adhesive stuck to the car. I used my fingers to pull the large pieces off, then used tar remover to carefully remove the remaining adhesive. It came off well, and I think with a good paint cleaner and wax job I won't even be able to tell the emblem was there. I like the nice clean look on the rear. I haven't taken off the one on the hood yet.
