I have a 1999 and just replaced the rear air shocks with new Arnott Industries OEM replacements. The compressor works fine, pumps like it should. It would appear that it is not releasing the air pressure though. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone have the solution?

i have inspected the sensors, they seem to be ok. compressor also seems ok. still stuck in the full position. rides very hard in the rear. anyone please help.

There is a actuator in the back that goes up and down with the car. It tells the compressor when to work or not. A lot of these get rusty and stuck, that might be your problem. It is on the rear axle towards the middle, you can''t miss the arm.

Thanks Randy, will check that today.

after i have replaced everything, it turned out that the compressor head which releases the pressure was shot. there is an elctronic part inside which is controlled by the level sensor which is on the control arm. easy fix, it is available from the dealer.
