1997 Bravada Fuel Issue
 

Hello, My wife drives a 1997 Olds Bravada. Of course it has the 4.3L. Lately, it has been extremely hard to start after it sits a few hours. I can hear the fuel pump come on and shut off, but it usually takes several tries, I even poured a little fuel in it one time. After it starts, it runs fine, even during hard acceleration. I changed the fuel filter but that was no help. It's like it's losing its prime. For short trips close together, it starts fine. If it is only a check valve issue, will fuel system cleaner help at all? Don't want to replace the pump if I don't have to, the truck has 130K miles on it. Thanks!

Anybody out there? Now it doesn't start most of the time without priming it, runs fine after starting.
