Shift lock release
Hello--am new to the forum. I own a 2002 Bravada, with 202,xxx miles. My transmission locked two days ago, and l am trying to locate the shift lock over ride lever. The manual says to release the shift boot and push the lever, but, l cannot figure out how to get the shift lever boot off to access the shift lock over rode. Any help in this matter would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Shift Lock Release Lever
This is a follow up to my previous posting. I got the shift lever boot off and the owners manual says to locate an orage lever and push down and the transmission should release. I cannot find an orange lever, or any other lever for that matter. Hlep please
Thanks in advance Tom Lovinggood |
Well, fellow Bravada owners. I was able to find the shift lock release, and it is not an orange lever. Rather, it is a metal button on the passeengers side of the transmission tunnel. You have to remove some of the console to access it and by pushing the button, the shift will release. Sadly, on my Bravada,, this was not what was wrong with it. Rather, the entire shift linkage came apart and had to be repaired.
