just currently am a new cutlass owner and i have a lot to learn about them. question i have is: im looking for some long tube headers for my cutlass. however i keep finding headers with key notes saying will not fit cutlass supreme models. whats the difference in the drive train that will not allow these to work? whats the difference in cutlass supreme models and standard models?i have a 1970 cutlass with a 350 and its afast back style. have no idea if its supreme or not.....thanks dustin

the answer is that is a myth not fact. Headers will fit a cutlass, cutlass supreme or 442 in 70. This is an old myth that was started years ago and is getting far too old. They may need to be tweaked a little but headers will go on these models 350 or 455.

But they won't need to be tweaked than on any other model Cutlass with the same engine/transmission combo.

In some cases the manufacturer misses a beat with the bend. In my case the passenger side a-frame was bolt was literally riding against the header. It needed to be shall I say slightly adjusted to prevent this. On my other car, same headers fit perfectly. No guarantee that all sets you order are exact so on occasion you may need to tweak them.

Good Point, Yogi. We ARE talking about mass-produced, machine bent, thin wall tubes here!
