1971 Cutlass Supreme restoration. Please Help!
 

I have a 1971 Cutlass s and i need your help. While i was driving it i was t-boned in the front left tire by an idiot going about 70mph. She pretty much destroyed the whole front clip. My question is what year models frames match up with mine. My thought is to cut off the frame from a parts car and replace the front of mine with it. The reasoning behind this is because of all the info we have on this car. I want to keep it as stock as possible. If you have any info please help me. I really want to fix it for my mom because its her favorite car.

Not trying to get business but have you checked to see if you can have the frame straightened locally. I used to do collision work and have straightened many vehicles. I know this is controversial but if the shop knows what they are doing and have the spec's for the frame, (and it's not flattened!!) they normally can be fixed back to factory spec. To answer your question, I'm pretty sure '70 to '72 cutlass will work, not sure if it is the same as the chevelle and other GM frames of that year. Hope this helps.

Something else. Now in NC, if you buy a car 35 years or older from out of state, you have to have it inspected by the DMV before a title will be issued. They check the vin #'s on the engine, cowl, and frame to make sure they match and are not stolen. Might create some problems if you decide to sell it or move to another state.
