1976 cutlass power steering - help needed

Hello,
I am restoring a 1976 cutlass supreme, the car was stored for about 15 years and in the mean time someone stole the power steering pump and its bracket.

I would like to have help on:
1. which pump should I use?
2. which bracket will fit?
3. where is the location of the pump should be?

the car details are:
VIN : 3J29RGM113837

the pump I have now (not the original but one I could find at nearby car wrecker):

any help will be much appreciated,

You can use one from any Olds v8 from about 1968-1990, but I would concentrate on getting one from about 1970-1980 from either an A body (cutlass) or B body(88,98).
Those will have the correct mounting brackets and the correct double pulley needed for your belts.
Stay away from toronados and T/A due to the different bracket set ups.

The one you have looks all wrong.

Hi svnt442,

Thx for reply,

can you confirm if one of the followings will fit:

ebay 1

ebay 2

thx

Either one would work just fine. The first one looks to be in much nicer shape and has the later pulley with the holes that make adjusting it much easier.

ok, I got the pumt and brackets.
now I need to manufacture the high pressure hose, I have the pump end but I dont know the screwing at the steering gear end.

do you know what screwing is used at the gear side to tight the hose to it?

I'm not following you. What do you mean "screwing"? Do you mean the thread pitch?
Why manufacture one? Just go buy one from the parts store they should still be available.

Also you are going to need a bolt and spacer for the lower part of the bracket that bolts to the block above the oil pan. I think the spacer is either 1/2" or 5/8" thick. I can't remember for sure.

I am located in Israel and non of the parts store has it or know what to order for me.

I went to hydraulic store and they are able to manufacture a new hose but need to know the thread pitch of the intake on the steering gear.

also, if I will know for sure I will be able to order it from the US.

about the spacer - we spent about an hour to figure why the pulley dont align with the crank pulley but we figured it out - thx!

EDIT:
Here is a link to the listing for the hose you need.

Hi

after a long time I got my hose and its perfect.
now, after mounting the streering pump in place with its bracket, the belt of the alternator is touching the main shaft of the steering pump

do you know what am I missing here?

Thx
G
