1987 Cutlass Supreme GT
I was browsing traderonline.com for a new Cutlass project and came across a 1987 Cutlass Supreme GT that the owner claimed was a limited production of 250. His asking price of $25,000 was enough to make me laugh a little, but peaked my curiosity. After a little "online" searching, the only Cutlass GT's that I found were the FWD Calais.
I've ben a Cutlass fan for 20+ years, but have never heard of this beast and the pictures in the ad showed the instrument cluster which was the base model- giant speedometer with no gauges. It did have bucket seats and floor shifter and some interesting red pin-stripes that followed the wheel openings, but other than that it was nothing special. Anybody know anything about this car? Just curious! |
It was a local "package" that a few dealers on the east coast offered. Nothing more than an appearance package on the outside. They may have even put a plaque on the console, but I'm not sure about that. It's not even the 442 engine, trans and rear end. Just the plain old 307, 200-4R and 7 5/8 rear.

As svnt442 said . Its a southern deal thing . UP north some dealers had cutlass with manual trans conversion on lot or a convertible both after market.
As for the cost it is laughable. As its a basic car with some badges . |
