1987 cutlass supreme questions

Hello, I have a few questions about my car. I would like to know the rear end gear ratio without taking the cover off. It had a 307 with an automatic in it. Will there be numbers somewhere on it? will my vin say? To my understanding the cutlasses are famous for the doors wanting to sag because of pin wear. what is the best way to fix this?

On a car this old it is best to pull the cover. You never know if it's the original housing any more. I personally went through 3 rear ends in the 80 I had (lead foot-itis). And besides it's probably a good idea to service it anyway.

Replace the pins.

What pins are you talking about?

The door hinge pins.

Should I take the pin out and put a bolt in? Or does the hinge wear and not the pin? Also where can I get those clips for the stainless steel trim pieces at the bottom of the car? I need the clips for both sides on the front.

Get replacement hinge pin kits. They come with new pins, bushings and clips.

The trim clips are another story. I think those will be a bit harder to find. I don't know if they are being re-popped right now or not. You could always check with a body shop and see what they can do about locating some for you.
