Need a few suggestions, 1988 Ciera, 2.8 MPI engine will not idle. Engine starts right up, restarts immediately after dying, reasonable power output.


Local mechanic reported compression 100 pounds per cylinder and suggested that was too low for the MPI to idle properly due to reduced vacuum at idle.Sounds bogus to me.


Any ideas? Thanks
