1993 Cutlass Supreme convertable climate control
Hey all,
Having some trouble with the Electronic Climate Control on my 1993 Cutlass Supreme convertable 3.1, automatic.
When I first bought the car a couple of months ago, it was equipped with a really flashy aftermarket radio w/a dvd player, 300 watt amp, and subwoofer. I decided all that stuff was a nice theft target and worked to remove it along with replacing the radio with a factory unit.
I got the radio yesterday and proceeded to install it thinking it would be a simple job. When I first plugged it in, it blew the #1 and 2 fuses in the fuse block under the glovebox. I discovered more dodgy wiring for the subwoofer stuff and removed it and had another go after replacing the blown fuses. Now, the radio works but the ECC display won't light up and pushing the buttons does nothing.
I've wiggled wires that I can reach to no avail and checked fuses. None are blown. Afraid I'm going to have 2 take the lower dash apart to reach the ECC unit and I'm not sure how to do this. The factory service manuals are hard to follow. I'm just hoping I haven't blown the thing since replacements seem hard to find.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you,
William
