Default 73 cutlass heater?

I recently bought a 73 cutlass. In my excitement, and after being pulled over by police on my test drive, i went ahead and pruchased the car without checking my heater. When I got home I noticed my heater controls didnt work. I figured it was just a fuse, but they're all good. Then I figured something was unplugged. took it apart and haven't noticed anything out of place. Now I'm stumped. What is the most common problem an old car like this can have with its heating? It doesnt come on at all. How do I troubleshoot? oh, it also has a/c. thnx in advance.

There is a blower resistor that probably died/burned out and needs to be replaced. The blower switch could also be the culprit so you have some investigating to do.

If the vent doors are not moving you have a vacuum issue. That could be vacuum lines or the plastic ball under the hood. It's an old car and things break.

If it's anything like my 70 it will be in the A/C box in the firewall under the hood, but I'm not sure about that on the 73. Look for wires going to the A/C box and that should lead to to it.
