Rotten eggs..

My husband blames it on bad gas I blame it on build up.. who's right? I've been to three different gas stations in the past two months and my car still smells like something gone up and died in it's tailpipe. I've had the spark plugs changed but not the wires, fuel and air filter are only a month old, & I'm going to have the injectors cleaned tomorrow.

My dad said to have the convertor replaced.. what do you think?

Kind of cracks me up though ~ my 5 year old is convinced that the car farted.

Your dad is "the man". Bad catalytic converters smell like rotten eggs. It's classic.

How much is that going cost & Is it something I can do myself?

Unless you have access to a lift and gas torch, I'd let a muffler pro handle it. Call around for prices. There's only a couple of companies that actually make them soall the brandsare all pretty much the same.

I HAVE FOUND THAT IF I GO TO AN INDEPENDENTLY OWNED MUFFLER SHOP THEY CAN INSTALL A CATALYTIC CONVERTER FOR HALF THE PRICE OF AN CHAIN EXHAUST SHOP AND CERTAINLY LOTS LESS THAN A DEALER.
