I had a vehicle that was doing the same. Was told that the engine/flywheel stop at darn near close to the same place everytime the car is shut off. My flywheel had an area where the teeth on it were shot. This was likely because the person that had it before me OVER-shimmed the starter when replacing it. I would first try to determine if you have an area where the teeth on the flywheel are worn/chewed/gone.
