I reasntly found a 69 convertable, the question is they want 5k for it. the body is great but has the faded gold paint, need a new top, inside is gold with the bench seat. only rust is on the dash itself from the leaking top. It has a fresh 350 matching numbers and the motor is detailed. The trans is the 2 speed powerglide and has factory air that needs recharged. I was told this is a sorta rear model because of the trans ,bench seat and air, and something to do with the emblym on the fender, it only has the cutlass emblym. interer is great. so is it worth the money to fix up, and would you guys take it back to the orginal gold or what. thanks cuase if I buy this you will see me alot.

Check the floorpans and all around the wheel wells for rust. I'll tell you that $5K for a convertible is exellent.

I'd take a closer look and snap it up.

I am sure that the floor pans are great as well as the wheel wells. Also who rare is to have the original rally wheels, are these also hard to find?
Do you hink I would be better off taking it back to the original color , I was thinking about changing it alittle. I seen a Lexes it think with a light bronze ,this way I dont have to change the interior. Ill psot pics soon to so you guys. The main reason I am thinking about this car is so that the entire family can enjoy. nothing like riding around with the family with the top down

Top down is the biz!

I have a 71 Cutlass convertible corrently in for paint. I'm going mid-80s C*rvette/Tran$ Am Flame Red with Arctic White hood stripes (but NO Ch#velle trunk stripes!). If it's a driver, (IMHO) paint it to please yourself.

Rally Wheels...chrome (SS-I), grey (SS-II)or body color (SS-III)?
