Yes guys, I''m new to this forum. I''m changing out the type O rear in my 70 cutlass to the chevy 12 bolt. Question is, will the brake backing plates from the cutlass rear bolt in place of the ones from the chevy rear? I have not removed the rear from the cutlass yet, but in the process of putting together the chevy rear. The backing plates appear to be the same, though I have not measured or studied them enough. I am aware of the bolt-in style axle retention of the olds vs. the c clips on the chevy. Will this affect it? Since everything in the olds now is in great shape and works, I would prefer to unbolt the backing plates and swing them aside without opening the brake lines. Thanks for some input.

Nevermind....I found out for myself. Did the swap today, they interchange as well as the olds drums too. The lame 2:41 single-trak is now a 3:42 posi. What a difference!
