i have a 1980 cutlass supreme that i am restoring and i put a 1973 buick 455 and a turbo 400, i was wondering if the 10 bolt posi rearend would hold up to that? also where do you get headliners for that car with a factory sun roof?

You can't use th term "restore" if you are slamming a different engine in there, much less a Buick engine. Why didn't you go "all Olds"?

Your 10-bolt will hold up, but you may need a bigger driveshaft and beefier U-joints.

I knew the u joints and the drive shaft would have to be beafier, i was just wandering about the rear end.

ok i may not be restoring the car but the rest of it will be original except for the drive line. I went with the buick eng because it was available and from what i have found the buick has more horse and torque than the Olds eng.

i also have a 1974 olds 350 rocket and turbo 350 trans if anyone is interested in it, it does run just needs a timing chain.

unfortunately you were misinformed re: HP and torque. Of the BOP 455's Olds is the HP Torque Motor. Out right 76 Pontiac 455 was the top HP Olds 455 is the most dominant Torque motor. In fact the Olds 455 is the most common torque replacement motor for 460 Ford and 454 Chevy trucks.

Thanks for the info, guess thats what i get for lisening to people rather than look into it myself, lately that is what i have been doing. because in my ocupation there is alot of talk and no facts.

Next question: where do u get performance parts for the buick eng, all i have found is intakes and dress up parts.
