hey there, just a few things i noticed about my olds, its got 111,090 (average) on it. rear bushings are making a horrible noise, they are original, just wondering if they should be doing this after this long


and also


the EGR ( Engine Gas Recycler )


anyone have it setting the check engine light off


i changed it at about 107,000


and it still goes off

The EGR valve is normally called (long name) the exhaust gas recirculating valve. Many things can make the Check Engine light come on, such as O2 sensors, and a myriad of other sensors throughout the car. What you need to do is get an OBD II code reader to determine what is causing yours to come on. Or take the car to a garage that will do that for you. Many charge just to hook up the reader (takes all of 10 seconds!) while others, I think, read the codes for free. I use my own.

The rear bushings you are talking about are the "coil spring insulators", I believe. They are rubber/composition bushing-like thingies that sit between the spring and the spring mount on the car, and, when worn, allow the metal of the spring to come in contact with the mount metal and creaks to no end. I am having the same problem with my ''98 !!!
