1998 Oldsmobile LSS 3.8 hard starting

I have a 1998 oldsmobile LSS that has been having issues starting after sitting for a few hours or overnight, it will crank for 6-10 seconds and then fire stumble a little bit then idle fine. Occasionally it will stall but it always starts right back up without issue. I have a code reader and no codes are reading out. I have changed the spark plugs and and tried cycleing the key to let the fuel pump build pressure before trying to start, nothing makes a difference, has anyone else had this issue with a 3.8 motor non super charged.

Pull the line off the top of the fuel pressure regulator and if you see or smell gas, replace the regulator.
Can you hear the fuel pump running before you start the car? It should run for about 2-5 seconds. You may have to have someone back at the tank to listen for it, they aren't very loud.

This past week I had checked the regulator and changed it out due to it spitting fuel. It has helped the problem not sure if it cured it though. I have listened for the fuel pump and it runs fine.
