the motor is from a 70 cutlass & is stock, (not been rebuilt)
rad is new 4 core. i have to run an electric fandue to thefact that it's in a street rod. no room for stock fan. new thermostat (195 degrees)
does run around 195 to 210 range.

Also, try a 160 degree thermostat. No need to run one that hot on a non-computer controlled car. Use the high flow RobertShaws you can order from JEGS and SUMMIT(they repackage them as Moroso or Mr Gasket "high flow balanced" thermostats) or you can order them from Stewart Components.
A shroud will probably help, too. I went to a dual fan from an LS-1 (the shroud fits my radiator almost perfectly) and dropped my temps considerably.

Thanks guys for your help. I''m still working on the 350 overheating problem. I backed flushed my cooling system w/a flush kit and chemical, 3 different times w/no significant results. With the car running, and the rad. cap removed, you can see the water/coolant circulating in the radiator. So now I have purchased a new Aluminum radiator(Afco) and preparing to install. My old radiator was a custom built 4 core, steel and copper radiator(perhaps this was my problem). I''ll try a high-flow 160 Thermostat, and plan on using a 16lb rad. cap. I''m hoping this will fix the overheating problem. If not, then I''ll try a shroud. My fan is an electric 16 inch, located on the front(outside) of the rad. pushing in toward the engine. Wiil keep you posted of the results.
