60 Olds Air Filter

I was able to find a cross reference for the 1960 Olds 2bc, A90C air filter (disposable). It is the WIX 42081, but the price is fairly prohibitive ($18.00). Does anyone know of another supplier?

Checker auto has the same filter (WIX 42081) for $9.49.

Yes you really could have damaged your engine depending on how long you had your engine running. the filter is there to block contamanants that are floating in the air so now their may be granular particles in your engine that may increase engine wear and tear.

air cleaner filter

Hi James

The 60 Olds has 2 choices of air filter. I have been using the original metal filter and I replaced it with the paper filter. So, assuming that Olds new what they were doing? The metal filter is supposed to do the job; if you keep it serviced.
