72 Olds 455 question
Am currently putting a 455 into a 65 f85 and have a question on the coolant system, I have deleted the heater/core/ box and filled the firewall will not be using any of the components, question is I have an edelbrock intake with a coolant port on the back passenger side and the port coming off the water pump, without knowing the 455 can I plug these or does this engine need to flow through the intake, If I cant plug it what is the best way to clean this up so I dont have the hose running front to back from the water pump

Consider this. When the A/C was on or in a non-A/C car you had it on full cold the valve there would be completely closed so the heater core would cool down and not blow hot air on you. Also on non-A/C cars the extra port on the water pump wasn't there in the first place or it was capped off.
So plugging those two holes is a solid idea. For the one on the back on the intake I would just get a large pipe plug and take out the hose fitting. It will seal better, not give you a chance of the hose/cap leaking and will look tons better. Not much you can do for the water pump except cap it off though. |

Yes, you do have a fuel filter, engine compartment drivers side. By logic if even if the fuel filter was clogged it will not delay the pump from kicking on, only keep the pump from running after it does kick on you have to build pressure before it will stop. Check for power at pump, if you have power at pump and no action- replace pump also filter for warranty and good measure.
