86 olds 442

Hello There my 1986 oldsmobile 442 is shifting hard, I all most have to floor it to the next passing gear. Seems like a vacuum problem. I cant find the transmission Modulator , does this trans even have one? Car only has 62,000 orig miles. Thank you
