88 cutlass misfire and white smoke
 

I have a 1988 Cutlass Ciera 4cyl that is misfiring badly. I recently replaced the ignition wires and plugs, the car ran fine for a day and then started misfiring and eating gas. A day later, the check engine light came on and now white smoke comes put of the exhaust with a gas smell. Im not sure what the problem is, thanks for any help.
