My mother inlaws car dies after she drives it awhile and then smells something burning,she says she get no power when going up steep hills and it feels like it in neutral.Can it be a censor on the transaxle? The mechanice put in a use tranny and the car races when idleling.&nb sp; Dave

 

HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THE CAR? WAS THE TRANS FLUID CHANGED WHEN INSTALLED ? WHEN CLIMBING A STEEP HILL DOES THE ENGINE REV HIGHER THAN IT SHOULD TO GET OVER THE HILL ? IF THE CAR RACES WHEN IDLEING DOES ANYONE HAVE THEIR FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. IS FLUID LEVEL CORRECT IN TRANS, DOES THE FLUID SMELL BURNT OR IS IT BLACK IN COLOR? HOW MANY MILES ON THE TRANSMISSION?

 

 

Hi I Like cars, Her Olds is a 93 royale and has a v6 and has 90,000 + and has a 3 speed automatic she has been driving it in the square D and the mechanice said she will burn out the tranny,but the book says she can drive in that gear and if she went over 55 it would kick in to over drive.After running awhile it feels like it doesn,t want to move and last time it shook and died,then she waited and it drove for 5 miles and started again.It has new fluid and cost 1,550 dollars to install and pick one up.The car slams into drive or reverse and it sounds like it slips and bangs,the tranny and idles very high and he says it,s in the range,but i feel it,s to high.Dave
