My dad's '95 Supreme won't shift into overdrive.
It's got the 3.1 engine but we don't know what tranny and he lost his owner's manual.
Any ideas out there?

I had a 95 Cutlass with a 4T60E tranny. If I recall, it had the tranny type printed on the bottom of the pan.


Have someone adjust the shift linkages, maybe? Also, that tranny had at least 3 solenoids in it. Maybe one is sticking/not receiving power/grounded? Have a tranny shop scan it, they may be able to tell you about the solenoids.
